  • How much does it cost?

    For patients, QwikVisit is free when conducting online appointments with your existing/established providers. Visits are just like a normal office visit so your provider will submit the charges to your insurance company, or charge you accordingly if you have other arrangements with your provider. For 2nd Opinion visits, patients pay an amount for the visit as shown in our 2nd Opinion Portal. The amount for 2nd opinions vary by provider. For providers, sign-up is free, which includes 5 visits per month for free. Providers can select from a variety of paid plans based on the required number of visits per month if greater than 5 is required.

  • How does it work?

    Patients and providers sign up on our web site. Providers schedule appointments in advance just like a normal office visit, or providers can start On-Demand sessions. Both providers and patients log onto our web site to start an online appointment. All you need is a computer or laptop with a webcam and microphone (headset recommended to avoid echo). We use state of the art HIPAA compliant encrypted WebRTC communications. The latest versions of Chrome and Firefox inherently support this protocol. If you’re using Internet Explorer, you will be prompted to install a plug-in the first time you use the system. Safari is not yet supported (please download Chrome or Firefox).

  • Can I use QwikVisit for all of my appointments?

    A QwikVisit online appointment can sometimes replace a doctor office visit. Consult your provider to determine if an online appointment is appropriate for the circumstance. Provider’s can only conduct QwikVisit online appointments with established patients, i.e. patients that have previously been seen in the provider’s office. However, 2nd Opinion visits through our one of a kind 2nd Opinion Portal can be conducted between providers and patients without a prior relationship.

  • How is QwikVisit different from other online services?

    Most other online telehealth/telemedicine services charge patients for visits, regardless of their insurance plan benefits. QwikVisit online appointments are handled just like a regular office visit, and thus providers should bill patients’ insurance companies accordingly.

  • Can QwikVisit handle emergency situations?

    No. QwikVisit online appointments can be used for NON-emergency visits. If you have an emergency, you should dial 911 immediately..

  • Will providers have access to my medical records?

    QwikVisit is a service to conduct online appointments between providers and patients that already have an established relationship, i.e. the patient must have previously been seen by the provider at least once in the provider’s office. Thus, your providers will continue to maintain and have access to your medical records as they already have without QwikVisit.

  • Does QwikVisit store any of my health information or record visits?

    No. QwikVisit does not store any health information and does not record visits.

  • Can providers prescribe medications as part of a QwikVisit online appointment?

    Yes. Providers can prescribe medications as part of a QwikVisit online appointment just as if the appointment was conducted at the provider’s office.

  • Are patients charged for missed scheduled appointments?

    Providers and patients should handle missed appointments in the same manner as they handle missed appointments for regular office visits.

  • Can providers and patients conduct 2nd Opinion visits only if the patient has previously been seen in the provider's office?

    No. Patients can request 2nd opinion visits with any provider available in our 2nd Opinion Portal. 2nd opinion visits are paid for by the patient in advance of check-in. QwikVisit verifies the credentials of all providers available in our 2nd Opinion Portal..

  • Where is QwikVisit available?

    QwikVisit is available anywhere that both the provider and patient have access to a computer on the Internet with a webcam and microphone. Thus, patients traveling away from home can meet with their established providers, or for 2nd opinions with any provider in our 2nd Opinion Portal. A broadband wired connection and headphones are recommended for the best experience.

  • Can I integrate QwikVisit services into my existing web site, practice management software or patient portal?

  • Our company network has a firewall. Do we need to open any ports?

    Running QwikVisit state of the art synchronous audio/video sessions requires allowing access to its services over specific ports in order to work. A network administrator in your organization can configure these firewall settings.

    Minimum Requirement: The minimum Requirement is that TCP port 443 is open. Some firewall/proxy rules only allow for SSL traffic over port 443. You will need to make sure that non-web traffic can also pass over this port.

    Better Experience: In addition to the minimum requirements being met, we also recommend that UDP port 3478 is open.

    Best Experience: For the best possible experience, we recommend that UDP ports 1025 – 65535 be open.
